ARTIST STATEMENT

I create crisp clean oil paintings using either a vibrant color palette or monochromatic texture in compositions made to appear simple but are actually quite complex. I like to incorporate the play of light and shadow on textures; the push-pull of symmetry and asymmetry; the “golden ratio”; the simplicity of primary colors and geometric shapes; or a familiar subject presented in its most basic elements. Each painting is one of a kind aimed at giving you, the viewer, a “wow” or “that’s cool” moment.
